Policy Academy Alumni Network

NCSD’s Policy Academy has been the organization’s flagship policy skills-building program for health department staff and their organizational partners since its inaugural cohort in 2011. Since then, 15 cohorts representing over 150 public health professionals have graduated from the Policy Academy and moved forward to enact meaningful STI-related policy change in their jurisdictions!

NCSD’s Policy Academy equips health department staff and partners with the practical skills needed to turn ideas into action. Participants gain expertise in:

        • Strategic messaging
        • Stakeholder analysis
        • Feasibility assessment
        • Policy development and implementation

Stay Connected Through PAAN

In 2024, NSCD launched the Policy Academy Alumni Network (PAAN), which keeps graduates connected long after the program ends. Through peer-to-peer collaboration, an alumni directory, and networking opportunities, members can share expertise and support policy innovation across jurisdictions.

Policy Academy Alumni Spotlights

Celebrating Public Health Champions

PAAN Spotlights highlight the accomplishments of Policy Academy alumni and showcase the impact skilled public health leaders can have in creating meaningful, lasting change.
