NCSD has partnered with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to assess monkeypox (MPV) messages and their effectiveness. This resource details draft Key Takeaways from the first focus group session, conducted on October 13, 2022.
NCSD has partnered with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to assess monkeypox (MPV) messages and their effectiveness, especially with unvaccinated people and Black and Latino men who have sex with men. Black and Latino MSM are less likely to have been vaccinated than white MSM.
To assess messages, NCSD and CDC used Remesh, an AI-based platform designed to conduct online, anonymous focus groups. Remesh recruited the sample, and 50 people’s data is captured in these results. Seventy percent of participants were unvaccinated, and 78% of participants were people of color.
This is the first session in a series, and a part of a larger effort to understand the effectiveness of MPV messaging and improve message effectiveness.
