A letter from our executive director welcoming all to STD Awareness Month.
Here is a way for you and your organization to get involved in #STDMonth18. Help us get the word out!
Dear NCSD Members & Colleagues,
NCSD is thrilled to be joining with CDC’s DSTDP and other national organizations to be supporting this year’s STD Awareness Month in April and this year’s theme: Treat Me Right. For providers, this is an opportunity to ensure that your patients are educated, properly diagnosed and treated for STDs. For NCSD members, DIS, and advocates, this is an opportunity to raise awareness that STDs are at a record high.
Recently, Congress restored a funding cut to the federal STD program at CDC – an urgently needed down payment on funding our field needs to bring STD rates down throughout the nation. There are lots of ways to get involved – ensure you have signed up for free to become an NCSD Associate Member, register for Voter Voice, access fact sheets and resources, and take action! We need everyone’s help to combat STDs. Whether you are an STD or HIV activist or provider, work for a maternal and child health or STD clinic, family planning or Planned Parenthood agency, or whether you are an advocate, concerned parent or a person living with an STD, we need you to raise your voice. We can’t solve this problem alone – we need everyone’s help.
Thank you for all that you do to support STD prevention!
Warmly,
David C. Harvey
Executive Director
