Description

This is the first webinar in a series that will explore research demonstrating how racism and other forms of discrimination can serve as risk factors to activate a toxic stress response, and lead to health conditions that have been shown empirically to have a connection to ACE exposure.

This webinar will:
Discuss some of the main social and environmental factors that lead to health disparities as well as the impacts of racism and discrimination on public health across communities.
Broadly discuss the role of racism and discrimination as risk factors for toxic stress and ACE Associated Health Conditions.
Make the case to providers that implementing Trauma-Informed Care principles and ACE screening can help them promote health equity as part of supporting the health and wellbeing of their patients.
