Here's the scoop on what's happening this week in Congress.
The new year is upon us, and Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21) is starting to kick up! The President’s FY21 budget is expected to be released February 10. As a reminder, the President’s budget has no force of law behind it, but does officially start the appropriations process, and gives Congress a template to work with.
Following the announcement of the President’s budget, the House Appropriations Committee said they plan on passing as many bills as possible by June, allowing time for the Senate to pass bills before the October 1 budget deadline. However, with this being an election year, NCSD expects that there might be some future bumps in the road.
