STD Clinics are essential access points for STD care. Help NCSD build the capacity of this important network!
As part of our new STD Clinic Initiative, Reimagining STD Clinics for the Future ,we are compiling a list of known STD clinics across the US. For the purpose of this project, STD clinics are defined as clinics with the ability to screen, diagnose, and treat STDs. This initiative is a first-of-its-kind program to help STD clinics nationally to improve and integrate the critical STD and HIV care and prevention services they provide to the most vulnerable Americans. The goal of this project is to bring together STD prevention practitioners from public and private clinics across the country to share information and resources, identify and implement best practices, and ultimately, reduce epidemic levels of STDs and HIV in this country.
Please respond to this request by sending an email to Summer Wagner-Walker (Senior Manager – STD Clinic Initiative) at swagner-walker@ncsddc.org with a list of clinic names and addresses, and if known, a contact name, telephone number, and email for the STD clinics. We understand that a comprehensive list for the clinics you work with may not be possible and that is ok. Please send us what you can and we will follow up as needed.
As part of this new initiative, we are completing a thorough assessment of public and private clinics – from location and infrastructure to billing practices and the range of serves they provide. This initial survey will facilitate key additional program activities, including:
This initiative comes at an opportune time as a listing of STD specialty clinics has been included in the Notice of Funding Opportunity, Strengthening STD Prevention and Control for Health Departments (STD PCHD) – Strategic Area III. We are happy to help with this task, and may be in touch to gather additional information as we compile the list.
