Making Contact: A Training for COVID-19 Case Investigators and Contact Tracers

Introductory online course for entry-level COVID-19 contact tracers, for use by health agencies in rapid training of new contact tracers.

Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and NCSD launched Making Contact: A Training for COVID-19 Case Investigators and  Contact Tracers, a free, introductory online course for entry-level COVID-19 contact tracers planning to work as part of a team with state and local health departments or allied public health agencies.

WHO: Anyone interested in entry-level COVID-19 contact tracer positions. Audiences may include:

  • government employees
  • community health workers
  • staff from local nonprofits
  • students and faculty at local academic institutions
  • volunteer groups and more.

WHEN: On-demand and any time. The training is available through ASTHO’s e-learning center with a log-in and password. You can create your log-in at this link.

LENGTH: This training includes four lessons that will take approximately three hours to complete. A certificate of completion is provided when all requirements are successfully met.

COST: The training is provided at no charge by ASTHO and NCSD.
