Michelle L. Allen is the Infectious Disease Section Director for the Georgia Department of Public Health. In this role, Ms. Allen oversees statewide infectious disease prevention services to ensure all activities and initiatives work in unison. She also informs policy and procedure and directs planning and operational activities for the state’s HIV/AIDS, STD and Tuberculosis programs. Before her role as director, Ms. Allen spent 14 years in field service in the area of communicable disease prevention, intervention, surveillance and education. She still organizes testing and community outreach events for at-risk communities.
Since 2006, Daniel has been the Program Chief of the HIV, STD, and Hepatitis C program at the Vermont Department of Health. Vermont is an integrated Care, Prevention, and Surveillance. Prior to his current position, Daniel was a social worker and worked for ten years as an HIV/AIDS case manager, prevention specialist, and trainer in Philadelphia and cities in central Connecticut.
Tammy is currently the STD Program Manager for the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). She began her career with the City of Lubbock Health Department in 1990 as the HIV Prevention Counselor. After ten years with the City of Lubbock, Tammy moved to Florida and worked as a Ryan White Case Manager for Volusia County for six months. In late 1999, she moved to Austin TX and was hired as a HIV/STD training specialist with the Texas Department of Health. Over the years, Tammy has worked as PTC III Coordinator, Assistant Training Manager, Training Manager and since 2008, the Manager of the HIV/STD Public Health Follow Up team.
Greta is currently the Assistant Program Manager/Surveillance for the STD Control Program within the Division of Disease Control for the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH). She began her career with PDPH in 2006 as the STD Control Program Epidemiologist. For six years, she worked closely with the STD Control Program to use data to help drive program changes, as well as having a major role in completing grant applications. She oversee both the Surveillance Unit, our High School STD Screening Program, and have since worked to expand collaboration with the HIV program, led the migration of surveillance system to a new platform, and continue to conduct data analyses to help drive program advancements.
