Kelly Mayor, our Director of Membership and Meetings, has called NCSD home for over 19 years, but we are sad to say that after next week, she is on to new adventures. Kelly has seen and done it all in the last two decades. She has worked under five executive directors here at NCSD and with five Directors of CDC’s Division of STD Prevention. She has coordinated over 20 annual meetings and was the life of the party at over 20 annual receptions.  She has sported countless hair colors and what seems like millions of pairs of flip flops, and has truly made an indelible mark on our field. All of her work has been in the service of NCSD and the STD field, and she has built a community which can really be called “the NCSD family.”

These past 19 years, I’ve been in awe of all of the work you do every day and I will remain your biggest fan no matter where I go from here.

Kelly signifies the scrappiness that we’ve come to admire in the STD field, helping to grow our annual meeting from 30 people to over 700 each year, turning it into the can’t-miss conference of the STD field, and she played a key role in growing our membership into the thousands. You’ve likely met or received an email from Kelly at some point, but if you haven’t had the chance to meet her, we’d highly recommend it. She’s serious at the right moments, funny at the right moments, and compassionate and caring always.

In her own words, Kelly offers the following to the NCSD members:

“NCSD members, my close friends, and colleagues will always be the center my fondest and best memories of my time at NCSD. I’ve had the opportunity to work with amazing, smart, passionate colleagues here at NCSD, and am so thankful for their support and teamwork over the years. Thank you and keep up the amazing, important work!”

We are very excited for Kelly as she continues on in her career and want to let her know she will always be part of the “NCSD family.”

Kelly’s last day will be June 7, 2019 and you are welcome to reach out to Kelly at [email protected]. Please join us in congratulating her on a job well done!
