Washington, DC – “The Partnership to End HIV, STDs and Hepatitis thanks the House Appropriations Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies Subcommittee for its continued bipartisan investment in HIV, STD, and Hepatitis prevention and care services, particularly new funding that will be used to implement the first year of the Trump Administration’s plan to end the domestic HIV epidemic by 2030.

After several years of flat funding, we are grateful for the substantial increased investment in domestic HIV programs and look forward to learning of the final funding details in order to ensure there are increased resources to combat STDs and hepatitis, as well. President Trump has challenged our nation to reduce the number of new HIV transmissions by 90 percent within a decade, but without the support and commitment of Congress, this task would not be possible. We appreciate Subcommittee Chair Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) and Ranking Member Tom Cole (R-OK), as well as HIV Caucus Chair Barbara Lee (D-CA) for embodying that commitment and bipartisan tradition and urge their colleagues in the House and Senate to follow suit, and provide the leadership necessary to end the HIV epidemic.”
