• Discuss DIS functions, examine their effectiveness, and explore ways in which effectiveness and impact of DIS functions can be enhanced
• Examine recently developed technologies, both digital and medical, and consider how they can be adapted to DIS work
• Describe the organizational context and structure of DIS teams and ponder if organizational changes may help increase effectiveness and impact
• Assess the role of rules, regulations, accountability, cost-benefit considerations, performance metrics, and outcome assessments as they shape DIS functions today and in the future
