The COVID-19 pandemic has created and exposed extraordinary challenges for America’s health care systems and public health infrastructure. In response, the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Future of Health Care Initiative is releasing a new report with recommendations for immediate action to bolster the nation’s pandemic response.
Join us on Friday, January 29, as BPC’s health leaders discuss the group’s recommendations that address six key issues: COVID-19 testing and contact tracing, vaccine transparency and distribution, supply chain management, surge capacity, racial disparities, and funding for states, localities, and providers.
BPC’s Future of Health Care Initiative is co-chaired by former Senate Majority Leaders Tom Daschle and Bill Frist, M.D., and former Medicare and Medicaid administrators Andy Slavitt and Gail Wilensky, and includes a bipartisan group of national health experts. In Feb. 2020, the initiative released the Bipartisan Rx for America’s Health Care, offering practical solutions designed to make health care coverage more affordable without adding to growing system-wide health expenditures.
