Molecular point-of-care (mPOC) testing has the potential to transform STI care—especially when brought into diverse, real-world environments. This webinar explores how mPOC is being used in correctional facilities, rural programs, and urban clinics to improve access and care. Experts will share implementation strategies, lessons learned, and insights into building sustainable public health partnerships. Register Here

Guest Speakers:

Timothy R. Southern, MS, PhD, D (ABMM)
Laboratory Director, Nevada State Public Health Laboratory
Dr. Timothy R. Southern, MS, PhD, D(ABMM) is a nationally recognized public health laboratory leader and currently serves as the Laboratory Director for the Nevada State Public Health Laboratory. Prior to his time in Nevada, he spent a decade as Laboratory Director at the South Dakota Public Health Laboratory. A diplomate of the American Board of Medical Microbiology, Dr. Southern earned his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from East Tennessee State University and completed postdoctoral research fellowships at both the University of Georgia and the National Institutes of Health’s Rocky Mountain Laboratories. He later completed a clinical microbiology fellowship at the Nebraska Public Health Laboratory. From infectious disease to environmental public health to surveillance for substances of abuse, Dr. Southern’s public health contributions span multiple disciplines. His public health work continues to emphasize equitable access to public health services, particularly in rural and tribal communities, as well as innovative approaches to public health program development.

Tamika Braddy
Site Manager, Women and Children’s Center, Rural Health Services
Tamika Braddy is a healthcare leader with over 18 years of nursing experience, spanning correctional health and rural women’s health. She began her career with the South Carolina Department of Corrections and later transitioned to Rural Health Services, where she now serves as Site Manager of the Women and Children’s Center. Tamika holds certifications as a Family Planning Health Worker, Peer Breastfeeding Counselor, and HIV PrEP Navigator. She is currently pursuing a degree in healthcare administration with a certification in women’s health and is passionate about empowering vulnerable populations through education and access to care.
