Bill Number: S.B. 859

Bill Description:

Requires the Secretary of California Health and Human Services and the Chief of the Office of AIDS to develop and implement a master plan on HIV, hepatitis C virus (HCV), and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), for the purpose of improving the health of people living with, and vulnerable to, those conditions, reducing new transmissions, and ending these epidemics.

Bill Number: H.B 1013

Bill Description:

Relates to prescription requirements; relates to treatment of sexually transmitted diseases; relates to sunset; repeals the sunset of July 1, 2020, on the provision that allows practitioners employed by the Department of Health to prescribe antibiotic therapy to the sexual partner of a patient diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease without the physical examination normally required.

Bill Number: H.B. 526

Bill Description:

Relates to coverage for reproductive health services; requires health benefit plans to cover the costs of specified health care services, drugs, devices, products, and procedures related to reproductive health, including well woman preventive visits, counsels for sexually transmitted infection, screens for certain conditions, folic acid supplements, breastfeeding support, counseling, and supplies, and breast cancer chemoprevention counseling.
