In honor of STD Awareness Month this April, the Maryland Department of Health’s Center for STI Prevention, the STD/HIV Prevention Training Center at Johns Hopkins, and other training partners are offering a free, live webinar for clinicians titled, Congenital Syphilis: A Preventable Tragedy-What Clinicians Need to Know About Maternal & Neonatal Prevention and Management. The webinar will be presented by two syphilis experts: Dr. Jeanne S. Sheffield, Professor of Gynecology & Obstetrics and Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and Dr. W. Christopher Golden, who is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, a neonatologist, and Medical Director of the Newborn Nursery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
