In the field of STD prevention, it is a known fact that MSM are facing a sexual health crisis. While STD rates across the country continue to soar, MSM continually account for a majority of new STD and HIV cases. Despite the overwhelming odds faced by our field, NCSD recognizes that jurisdictions all over the country have been breaking new ground in the fight against STDs and HIV in MSM populations. In an effort to promote more cross collaboration and strategy sharing, NCSD wishes to highlight individuals and resources that have proven to be innovative and effective in providing STD prevention services to MSM. These TA specialists, or “Peer-to-Peer collaborators”, will be listed as resources in the soon to be released MSM Services Report Card. This newly developed tool acts as a self-assessment for jurisdictions to use in order to see if their MSM services are up to snuff. The report card also attempts to set a standard for what quality MSM care should look like. Peer-to-Peer Collaborators are needed on the following topics:

• Enhancing health department data environments to better service MSM
  • Analyzing YRBS
  • Analyzing BRFSS
  • Collecting SOGI data
  • Calculating incidence and prevalence rates
• Providing relevant health information to MSM
  • Cultural competency
  • Giving info on LGBTQ health providers
  • Online outreach
• Providing relevant services to MSM
  • Extragenital testing
  • PrEP/STD services
