Our members make STD prevention happen across the country. That's why we make it a point to travel to meet our members where they work. This week brought us to Alabama.
Neil Rana and Amanda Dennison traveled to Birmingham, Alabama to attend the Red Door Foundation’s Saving Ourselves Symposium. The conference addressed the health and wellness of the Black LGBTQ community within the south, focusing on HIV and other health disparities. Neil lead a panel discussion on DIS and the services they provide the LGBTQ community in the south. The discussion sought to showcase what DIS can do for black LGBTQ southerners, and ways that people can leverage their services to maintain their health and wellness. NCSD would like to thank all who showed up, with a special thanks to the amazing DIS that participated in the discussion!
