Dear Partners in Prevention:

This year’s STD Prevention Conference will feature an optional site visit to the DC Health & Wellness Center on Monday, Aug 27, from approx. 12:30PM-4:30PM (includes one hour for commuting). This is an exciting opportunity to learn about the work of the Wellness Center and their STD services, as well as to hear from their community partners such as the laboratory and the multiple youth centers with whom they collaborate. The following organizations will present to participants:

  • DC Health and Wellness Center
  • Whitman Walker Health
  • Us Helping Us
  • La Clinica del Pueblo
  • Latin American Youth Center

The cost to participate is $25 to cover transportation. If you’re interested, please register along with your general conference registration. There are a limited number of spots available for this site visit, and those will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Please email Kelly Mayor with any questions.

There are also some fast-approaching deadlines coming up:

  • There’s still time to submit your nomination for the Jack N. Spencer Award. The deadline has been extended until Thursday, May 31.
  • Early registration ends in one week on May 31.
  • Late breaker abstracts for oral or poster presentations must be submitted no later than June 1, 2018, 11:59 PM PDT. Abstracts sent by mail, fax, or email will NOT be accepted.

We will continue to update the conference website with this and other key information to help you plan your attendance.
