April 30, 2-3pm est.
PrEP is one of the most exciting advances in HIV prevention that has happened in years. For several reasons, many individuals that seek service in STD clinics are ideal candidates for PrEP. However, patients who seek PrEP often have difficulties accessing the right providers. To address this, many jurisdictions have implemented PrEP Telehealth strategies, focusing on using technology to link patients to care. This webinar will discuss client-centered approaches to implement PrEP in STD clinics and telehealth settings. Cody Schafer and Shannon Wood from the Iowa Department of Public Health will share the successes and challenges they have experienced in implementing their Telehealth services in a rural setting. It will also explore factors that are critical to the long-term success of PrEP Telehealth for clients.
