Approaches to Providing Inclusive Adolescent Sexual Health Referrals

Marginalized student populations (Black, Brown, Indigenous, and/or LGBTQIA+ students) experience disproportionate hardships and require certain considerations when providing sexual and reproductive health referrals. Inclusive referral systems consider the unique challenges these populations face including discrimination, bias, and lack of adequate resources. This session supports NCSD’s “Developing a Referral System for Adolescent Health Services” toolkit webinar series.

  • Claudia Douglas, MD, MS, Faculty scientist, Division of Adolescent Medicine, Seattle Children’s Hospital – University of Washington. Her research and clinical interest focus on addressing sexual and reproductive health disparities for adolescents and young adults.
