May Clinic+ Connect Community Call – Open Door Health: Implementation of a Community-based, LGBTQ+ Clinic in Rhode Island
Our May Clinic+ Connect Community Call features Dr. Phil Chan and will focus on the implementation of Open Door Health, the only community-based, LGBTQ+ clinic in Rhode Island. The clinic was started in 2020 by Dr. Amy S. Nunn and Dr. Philip A. Chan to address gaps in sexual health and STIs in the state. The clinic includes a walk-in STI clinic and PrEP services and has piloted nurse-driven PrEP protocols and point-of-care STI testing. The presentation will discuss the background of the clinic, how and why it was started, and other lessons learned.
