Washington, DC – The National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD) is pleased to welcome Zandt Bryan, the sexual health and prevention program manager at the Washington State Department of Health, as the newly elected chair of its national board of directors. As board chair, Mr. Bryan will also lead the Executive Committee of NCSD’s board. Mr. Bryan brings almost 20 years of experience to his new role, starting his career in 2004 as a disease intervention specialist (DIS).

“I am very happy to join NCSD’s board of directors as the new chair,” said Mr. Bryan. “My experience as a DIS and grants principal investigator, as well as my work with STI/HIV partner services programs and community-based organizations will enable me to serve the field and inform the board’s decisions and organization’s efforts. I look forward to working with the NCSD team in realizing their plans for supporting our members.”

NCSD also welcomes Audrie MacDuff King, director, policy, STI programs at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, as chair-elect, along with several newly elected board members, including Rebecca Scranton (AZ), Scott Strobel (KS), Jason Henry (USVI), and Kathleen Roosevelt (MA).  Newly elected directors join existing members of the board, including George Walton (IA), Daniel Daltry (VT), Janine Waters (NM), Tom Bertrand (RI), Brandi Roberts (AR), Danny Brikshavana (IL) and Josh Ferrer (OR).

“We have a demanding year ahead of us, with the continuing impact of the pandemic on the STD field, new work created by DIS supplemental funding, and a continuing rise in STD rates, all presenting large challenges to overcome,” said David C. Harvey, NCSD executive director. “Mr. Bryan and our entire board of directors bring a wealth of experience across a wide range of disciplines that will help us continue to address those challenges and the needs of our members,” Harvey adds.
