The Certified in Disease Intervention (CDI) initiative is a national certification program designed for disease intervention professionals, led by the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) and funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC CK20-2003). Developed by the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE), the certification exam will assess six domains based upon the core competencies and essential activities of the DI workforce. How is NCSD Involved?
NCSD is now excited to announce its partnership with the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) to support the CDI program. Through this partnership, NCSD will support the disease intervention (DI) community through professional development trainings and resources offered in the NCSD Learning Center. With over 7,000 learners and more than 30,800 course enrollments in the NCSD Learning Center, the DI workforce will find training and learning support throughout their CDI journey among a growing community of professionals.
The NCSD Learning Center’s new UniversiDI pathway will offer a comprehensive, self-paced, 12-part eLearning module series focused on core disease intervention (DI) competencies and will feature educational resources, Spanish-language training offerings, and much more! NCSD is excited to provide trainings that support both certification and re-certification of DI professionals.
The Certified in Disease Intervention Certification Program is supported through funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through a Cooperative Agreement awarded to the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) and sub-awarded to the National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD).
