Here's the scoop on what's happening this week in Congress
After a late meeting on Thursday, November 14th, there are reports that legislators may be close to reaching a deal on an FY20 funding level for border infrastructure.
The holdup over funding allocations for border infrastructure has delayed negotiations for the Labor Health and Human Services (LHHS) bill, the bill that funds STD prevention, among 11 other bills. Once an agreement is reached, appropriators will begin negotiations on FY20 spending.
In the meantime, the current continuing resolution (CR) is set to run out on November 21st. However, we hear that another CR will be filed on Monday, November 18th which would continue to keep the government open and programs running at FY19 levels through December 20th.
